Steubenville, OH - Penn State Beaver Men's Soccer took on Muskingum today in their first match of the season after yesterday's season opener got rained out. They hoped to start off the season with a good result at the Franciscan tournament.
Beaver did not start off well, allowing a goal in the third minute. Despite a poor start the men were able to fight through and provide a good performance. Beaver's player of the game was Quentin Wertz (Hookstown, PA) who had 4 saves including an incredible save to keep the game within one in the 57th minute. After playing well as a team for the rest of the game Beaver was unable to find an equalizer and ultimately lost 1-0.
Beaver hopes to bounce back and earn their first win of the season at home against Thiel on September 4th.
