Beaver Falls, PA- The Penn State Beaver Men's Soccer Team defeated Penn State Wilkes-Barre 9-1 on Saturday.
In the first 30 minutes, Beaver build a 5-0 lead. Five minutes in, Freshman Nadeem Shakshir netted a pass from Junior Misa Garcia to give Beaver the 1-0 lead. 13 minutes later, Garcia got an unassisted goal of his own. At the 21 minute mark, Junior Ethan Paxton scored an unassisted goal to push it to 3-0. Freshman Joe Saldivar scored his first collegiate goal at the 28 minute mark. Freshman Martin Igaba scored the fifth goal, with Freshman Joe Ebersohl and Sophomore Frederick Riedel assisted. After a Wilkes-Barre goal, Freshman Inioluwa Muyiwa scored an unassisted goal. Beaver took the 6-1 lead into half.
Beaver scored 3 second half goals. Freshman Oluwanifemi Oluwabu, Junior Jake Ross, and Riedel scored the goals with Senior Devin Diluca assisting Ross. Freshman Alex Hart saved two shots, giving up one goal.
With the win, Beaver has now won 4 in a row, and takes their PSUAC record to 2-0. They are 4-1 overall. The Lions hit the road on Tuesday, traveling to USCAA opponent Villa Maria.
