The Lions of Penn State Beaver entered Wednesday's PSUAC opener against Penn State Mont Alto on a two game win streak. The Lions defeated Carlow University and Westmoreland CCC during the streak by a combine score of 12-2.
Mishael Garcia (Los Angeles, CA / Alexander Hamilton) was fired up and scored the games first goal with less than 30 seconds off the clock. Nadeem Shakshir (Jerusalem / Friends School Palestine) followed up with an impressive goal (unassisted goal) at the 19 minute mark to build a 2-0 lead. Shakshir headed a pass to himself and then scored on a header. Beaver led at half 2-0.
At the 70 minute mark, Garcia came through again with another goal taking the lead to 3-0. At the 80 minute mark, Freshman Inioluwa Muyiwa (Houston, Tx/ Jappotown) got on the board for Beaver making the score 4-0 in Beaver's favor. Just as the game seemed over, Beaver scored an own goal with three minutes left, and then Mont Alto scored almost immediately after to make it 4-2. Beaver was able to get the defense back on track for the final two minutes, and preserved the 4-2 victory.
