Coming off of a pair of conference road losses, the Lions returned home to face Penn State New Kensington. The team was defeated 5-2 in their latest PSUAC conference matchup.
The first half started in Beaver's favor, as freshman Noah Zajicek scored the first goal of the game 6 minutes in. His goal was assisted by senior Logan Ridgley. A minute later, however, New Kensington made their way onto the scoreboard, tying the game. Within the next 25 minutes, New Kensington made 2 additional goals, leaving Beaver trailing at the end of the first half 3-1.
In the second half, Beaver showed inititave, doing their part to keep the ball out of their net. New Kensington made a fourth goal about 15 minutes into the half, leading 4-1. However, Beaver came back a minute later with a goal by sophomore John Kazmierczyk. Beaver continued to gain control of the ball, with several attempted goals, but they were not enough. New Kensington gained possession of the ball with 15 minutes left in the match and scored, giving the game a final score of 5-2.
