New Brighton, PA -- Looking to create a win streak, the men fall short to Point Park at home.
In their second game in as many days, the Lions looked to continue their win streak. Just minutes into the game Beaver gave up a goal to fall behind 0-1, but then played a very solid half not allowing the high powered offense of Point Park to score again until their was less than ten minutes to play in the half.
In the second half, Point Park was looking to extend their lead and do it quickly as they fired off seven shots in the first 15 minutes of the half. Goalie, Sam Sharpless was a wall until he gave up the third Point Park goal at the 61:29 mark. A few minutes after the goal Beaver fouled, allowing a pentalty kick which opened the scoring wide open as the Lions gave up 3 quick goals to fall behind 6-0. With ten minutes to play, Shish Subba tried to get Beaver on the board with a quick shot, but it was saved by the opposing goalie and Beaver would end the game with just 5 shots on goal resulting in a 7-0 loss.
The loss now sits the team at 1-3-1 as they head into another tough game this weekend when they host Pikeville on Sunday at 12:00 p.m.
