Pittsburgh, Pa -- The Penn State Beaver men's soccer team traveled to Point Park University for a non-conference game in the last week of regular season play. The Beaver team comes into this game looking to play well against a tough team, hopefully to go them into top shape for the upcoming PSUAC playoffs. Beaver sits close to the top of the PSUAC standings, currently right below Penn State Brandywine, going into these playoffs.
The game was dominated by Point Park, as the Beaver team struggled to stop their constant offensive attack throughout the entire game. Point Park out shot Beaver 26-1 in the first half, yet Beaver's goalie, Samuel Sharpless, only let up 5 goals in the first half. The second half went just as the first did as Beaver fought to slow down the offensive attack with minimal success. When it was all said and done, Beaver comes home with an 8-0 loss.
Beaver played against a very good non-conference team in Point Park University, and despite their big loss still have a lot to look forward too. The team still sits in a very good spot with the PSUAC playoffs coming up as they are now 9-7 overall, with a 7-1 conference record. Beaver's goalie, despite taking home a loss, played very well in this game keeping it very close taking into consideration the amount of shots that he faced in this one. The team will return to action on Wednesday, October 19, at Penn State Greater Allegheny for the team's final conference game of the season. Game time is set for 5 pm.
