Rochester, Pa -- The Penn State Beaver men's soccer team took on Westmoreland County Community College on Thursday for their second matchup of the season. In their first meeting, Beaver dominated Westmoreland County winning 13-0 on the road. The team looks to have the same success in this matchup as they need to get back on the winning track after losing their last game to Hiram.
Beaver controlled the temp in this game from the very begining of the game. In the fourth minute Beaver finally drew first blood, as John Kazmierczyk scored their first goal giving them a lead that would stand until the end of the game. Beaver was dominant in this one, as the ball hardly ever crossed midfield for Westmoreland County. In fact, Beaver didn't let up a shot until the second half thats how well they played in this game. Beaver played hard from start to finish in this one and when the final whistle blew, they walked away with a 6-0 win.
Beaver was very impressive in this game, as they controlled the tempo from start to finish. Led by Julius Illiano, who tallied 6 shots on goal while scoring a goal and getting an assist, Beaver coasted to this victory. The team now sits at 6-5 overall with a 4-1 conference record. Beaver will return to action on Sunday, October 9 against Penn State Wilkes-Barre at Penn State Scranton's field. Game time is set for 2 pm.
