Asheville, NC - Despite being eliminated from the USCAA Championship last game, Beaver ends their 2015 season on a good note defeating Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences 2-1.
Early Friday morning, Beaver helds their heads high and played the game like it was their last as they finished out their season for the year. At first, it didn't look very promising after Albany scored within the first 4 minutes of the game. It wasn't until late in the second half Beaver retaliated and scored two on Albany.
Junior, Marcus Smith (Pittsburgh, PA/ Perry) scored Beaver's first goal in the 80th minute. Not even a few minutes later, Freshman, Julius Illiano (Harrisburg, PA/ Central Dauphin) scored the game winning goal for Beaver. Due to Freshman, Samuel Sharpless's (Conway, PA/ Freedom) defense, saving 5 out of the 6 shots that came to him, Albany were kept at 1 goal the enitre game.
Beaver finished out the season 14-5-1 overall with 73 goals in 19 games. With two players named USCAA All-Americans, Smith and Illiano. They now look towards next season where they hope to be successful once again, only losing a few players and hoping to gain more.
