Asheville, NC - Beaver played Maine-Fort Kent Thursday afternoon in the Quarterfinals of the USCAA Championship.
Beaver felt defeat losing 6 goals to none. Fort Kent scored in the 13th minute to open the scoring in the game. They would score two additional goals in the half to take a 3-0 lead into the break.
In the second half, Maine Fort Kent continued to press the defesne of Beaver, tallying three more goals to make the final score 6-0.
Sophomore, Rashitha Perera (Irvine, CA/ Northwood High School) and Freshman, Samuel Sharpless (Freedom, PA/ Freedom) had 15 saves between them. However, it wasn't enough to stop Fort Kent.
Beaver's season coming to an end, they reflect back on a successful season. Despite being eliminated from the USCAA Championship they keep their heads up walking away as PSUAC Champs. In addition to the conference championship and their first trip tp the USCAA National Tournament, Beaver also celebrates the personal acheivements of several players.
Earning USCAA All- American honors were junior, Marcus Smith (Pittsburgh, PA/ Perry) and freshman, Julius Illiano (Harrisburg, PA / Central Dauphin).
Beaver will play Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in a consolation game at 9:30 a.m. Friday morning to conclude their trip to the National Championship.
