Unionville, PA - On Saturday, October 3, Mont Alto traveled to Beaver only to be disappointed by Beaver losing 9-2.
Marcus Smith (Pittsburgh, PA/ Perry) opened the first half with a goal in the 8th minute assisted by Lamont Wright (Pittsburgh, PA/ Penn Hills). Smith went on a minute later to scored his second goal of the match unassisted. Anthony Voss (Pittsburgh, PA/ Chartiers Valley) gave Beaver their third goal of the game in the 14th minute assisted by Smith. After 14 minutes had passed Wright scored in the 28th minute with the assist by Sidney Bates (Pittsburgh, Pa/ Caroline Va.) Mont Alto answered back in the 34th minute but it didn't take long for Beaver to score again before the first half was finish when Smith scored again making it his third goal of the match with a hat trick, assisted by Bates.
As the second half began, Smith was reluctant to scored once more with an assist by Voss. As time passed, almost 20 minutes later Alex Rectenwald (Pittsburgh, PA/ Chartiers Valley) scored his first goal of the match that was unassisted. Minutes later Rectenwald scored again with the assistance of Rashitha Perera (Irvine, CA/ Northwood High School). AS the second half was coming to an end, Bates scored Beaver's final goal of the match with an assist from Logan Ridgley (Fombell, PA/ Riverside). Mont Alto tried to recover with another goal near the end of the match but it wasn't enough to beat Beaver.
Leaders of the match included, Rectenwald with 11 shots, 7 shots on goal, and 2 goals. Smith with 8 shots, 6 shots on goal, and 4 goals and Wright with 6 shots, 2 shots on goal, and 1 goal. Bates had two assists along with Perera, Smith, Wright, Voss, and Ridgley with one assist each. Samuel Sharpless (Conway, PA/ Freedom) has 9 shots on goal to him with 7 saves.
Beaver's next match is Wednesday, October 7, against Penn State New Kensinton at 4 p.m.
