Alfred, NY -- Beaver ties in a nail biter at Alfred State.
After a convincing win Saturday, the Lions looked to continue thier solid play Sunday as they traveled to Aflred, NY.
In the first half, Beaver was the first to get on the board on an unassisted goal by Julius Illiano (Harrisburg, PA / Central Dauphin) which was quickly followed by a goal by Ryan Christy (Burgettstown, PA / Burgettstown) to give Beaver a 2-0 lead going into halftime.
In the second half, Beaver's Marcus Smith (Pittsburgh, PA/Perry) netted their third goal of the game. Seeming to be in total control of the game, Beaver gave up their first goal of the game a minute and a half after taking the 3-0 lead. Aflred would continue to battle, scoring a second goal off of an lucky deflection off of the post. With 26 seconds to play Alfred would score the tying goal.
After an insane second half, the Lions battled through two over time periods to hold Alfred scoreless, but unable to score themselves, finished the game in a 3-3 tie.
In goal for Beaver was Rashitha Perera (Irvine, CA / Northwood High School) who faced 12 shots on the day.
Beaver now sits at 4-3-1 and will return to action on Thursday, October 1st at 2:00 p.m. when they play host to Penn State Greater Allegheny and look to keep their PSUAC win streak alive.
