Wallingford, PA -- Number four seeded Beaver traveled to the number one seed Brandywine for the Final Four match-up in the PSUAC.
In the first half the teams played an evenly matched game both teams exchanging shots on goal until Beaver's Jonathan Pogozelec (Wampum, PA / Ellwood City) netted the only goal in the half off of a throw in from Marcus Smith (Pittsburgh, PA/Perry).
With the 1-0 lead coming out of halftime, Beaver seemed to have the momentum until giving up a goal on a penalty kick just minutes into the second half. Beaver quickly tried to answer with two back to back shots from Smith, but it wasn't enough to stop Brandywine from taking the lead, 2-1, in the 63rd minute.
The last twenty minutes of the game were action packed as Beaver's Smith found the net to tie the game at two a piece. For the next ten minutes the teams would exchange shots until Brandywine finally stole the momentum scoring two goals in the last ten minutes, one in the 81st minute and the other in the 86th bringing the score to 4-2 in favor of Brandywine.
This is the second year in a row that Brandywine has knocked Beaver out of the post-season, last year defeating them in the PSUAC Championship game. Beaver now awaits USCAA National Tournament bids to be released on October 28th.
