Youngwood, PA -- The Men's Soccer team opened their 2014 season on the road with a 4-1 loss.
In their first game of the season, the Lions Soccer team faced off against the Westmoreland County Community College Wolfpack. The game was even through the first half with the halftime score 0-0.
In the second half both teams maintained their defense until there was less than 11:00 minutes in the game. At about the 80:00 mark, WCCC scored three of their four goals within a 3:00 span. But Beaver's Marcus Smith (Pittsburgh, PA/Perry) was able to answer with his first goal of the season. Unfortunately, his late spark was not enough to overcome the Wolfpack as Beaver fell by a final score of 4-1.
The Lions quickly return to action Friday, September 5th for their home opener against Stevenson University which is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. at Green Valley Park.
