York Drops Beaver, 6-0
Beaver Continue to Search for Scoring Touch
September 24, 2011
Unionville, PA - The Penn State Beaver Men's Soccer Team (1-8, 1-2 PSUAC) lost a PSUAC match-up to Penn State York by the score of 6-0 at Green Valley Park. This was Beaver's first home game since September 12th.
Beaver opened the game up with an early scoring chance, but the tides soon turned. York scored in the 19th minute on a Beaver own goal to make the score 1-0. That would be all that York (2009 PSUAC Champions) needed as they added two more goals in the half to increase their lead to 3-0.
York added another three goals in the second half, as the Beaver offensive attack was silent once again. Beave mustered only 9 shots on goal for the entire game.
Beaver's Brad Prinkey (Freedom/Freedom, PA) relieved sophomore keeper Cody Killmeyer (Langley/Pittsburgh, PA) early in the first half and allowed four goals on 20 shots.
Beaver will have a quick turnaround and a chance to get back to .500 in the PSUAC as they host Penn State Schulykill (Schuylkill Haven, PA) on Sunday, September 25 at 2 p.m.
