Lions Play Bobcats Even in 2nd Half
September 12, 2011
Unionville, PA - The Penn State Beaver Men's Soccer Team (1-3, 1-0 PSUAC) dropped a non-conference affair to Pitt Greensburg, 4-1, at Green Valley Park.
The Lions who were playing their second game in three days, came out ready to play in the first few minutes of the game, fresh off their first win of the season on Saturday against Penn State Mont Alto.
That, however, changed when Pitt Greensburg scored in the 9th minute. The Bobcats struck again in the 19th minute on a nice header by Nathan Crain (South Park/South Park, PA) off a corner kick to make it 2-0. Pitt Greensburg added another marker in the 27th minute to give them a 3-0 lead at the half.
Despite another Bobcat goal, to make it 4-0, Beaver kept on the attack. Mike Biskup (Center/Aliquippa, PA) and Jason Schacter (Langley/Pittsburgh, PA) led the team in shots with five and three, respectively, while Mahmoud Helal (Choueifat-Egypt/Cairo, Egypt) and Desmond Amberetu (Bowie/Bowie, MD) added two apiece.
Beaver scored its lone goal of the game on a penalty kick in the 81st minute. Biskup put in the lower left hand corner of the net, avoiding a shutout.
The Lions will be in action on Thursday, September 15th at Hiram College (Hiram, OH) at 7:30 p.m. when they take on the Terriers in a non-conference tilt.
