Beaver Tops Penn State Wilkes-Barre

Unionville, PA - On Sunday, Sept. 19, the Penn State Beaver men's soccer team hosted and defeated Penn State Wilkes-Barre, 8-3.
Beaver started scoring early in the first half with two goals by Tyler Blake (Moon High School, Crescent Township, PA) at the 6 and 12-minute marks. Blake scored off assists from Mike Biskup and Scott Stawiarski. Another Biskup assist allowed Peter Williams (Beaver High School/Beaver, PA) to score at the 26-minute mark, creating a 3-0 Beaver advantage.
Wilkes-Barre got on the board at the 40-minute mark, but Beaver came back with two more goals, courtesy of Blake. Scoring slowed at the start of the second half, but Biskup scored an unassisted goal to spark the offense again. From there, Beaver scored two more goals in the remaining six minutes. Williams scored again at the 84-minute mark (assist by Blake), and Brad Pinkey scored an unassisted goal in the final moments of the game.
Beaver is now 3-1-0 in the PSUAC and 3-4-0 overall. On Wednesday, Sept. 22, the men travel to take on the Bethany College Bisons (Bethany, WV) in a non-conference game at 7:30 p.m.
