Lions Lose in Double Overtime

On Sunday, Oct. 12, Penn State York hosted and defeated Penn State Beaver's soccer team in double overtime, 2-1.
Beaver struck first with a score from sophomore Corey Anderson (Kane, PA) and an assist by freshman Chris Pander (Center Township, PA). However, York fought back to lock the score at 1-1. The game went into double overtime but York scored a goal in the final seconds of the game.
Beaver put up a tough defensive battle as sophomore goalkeeper Cameron Fertenbaugh (Cumberland Valley, PA) faced 9 shots with 7 saves. Offensively, Beaver forced York to face 4 shots on goal.
The Beaver Nittany Lions are 8-2-1 in the PSUAC and 9-7-1 overall. The last regular conference game of the season will be held at 4 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 15 when Beaver hosts Penn College. The first 100 fans to arrive will receive a free Penn State Beaver pennant.
