Beaver & Abington Tie Conference Game

On Thursday, Sept. 25 the soccer team returned to conference play when they hosted and tied Penn State Abington, 2-2.
In the final minutes of the first half, Beaver scored a goal off freshman Todd Long (Kane, PA) with an assist from sophomore Corey Anderson (Kane, PA).
In the second half, Abington scored, bringing the game to 1-1. Within minutes Beaver scored another goal from Anderson who was assisted by sophomores Alex Dawson (Riverside, PA) and Isaac Shaffer (Riverside, PA). Beaver's defense stayed strong until the final minutes of the game when Abington tied it, 2-2. Due to a lack of light, Beaver and Abington were unable to complete the game and took the tie.
Sophomore keeper Cameron Fertenbaugh (Camp Hill, PA) faced four shots and saved two as Beaver's offense forced Abington to face seven shots.
The Lions will break from conference play when they travel to Beaver Falls to take on the Geneva College Golden Tornadoes, 7 p.m., Monday, Sept. 29. Beaver is 6-5-1 overall and 6-1-1 in the conference.
