Assistant Coach Bill Mahan is in his second year as the assistant women's basketball coach, and overall seventh year as an assistant coach at Penn State Beaver where he also served as an assistant coach in 1999.

Mahan has more than 30 years of high school and college coaching experience and was head coach at New Brighton High School, Rochester High School, and Lincoln High School (Ellwood City, PA). He also served as an assistant coach at New Brighton High School and the Community College of Beaver County.

Throughout the years Mahan has coached numerous men's and women's D1 and D2 athletes including former Penn State University and NFL receiver Derek Moye. Additionally, athletes that played at Eastern Michigan, Robert Morris, Kent State, West Liberty, and Palm Beach Atlantic have played or trained under Coach Mahan.

In 1997 Mahan led New Brighton High School to the WPIAL AA Championship game where they were upset by Quaker Valley High School (Sewickley, PA). During that time Mahan coached both Coach Rea and former men's Coach Marcess Williams. Williams noted that "Coach mahan has been one of the most influential basketball minds during all my years of playing and coaching basketball. He's great! He understands the game, and most importantly, he's a great teacher. He has really elevated the staff, and the guys love him."

Mahan is a graduate of Kent State University, retired from First Energy and currently conducts skill development sessions for local athletes. He and his wife, Susie, live in New Brighton, PA.
