Beaver Battled To Finish The Season

Monaca, PA- Penn State Beaver played their last game of the season against Penn State Greater Allegheny on their home court. Seniors were recognized tonight for the hard work in the classroom and on the court. Fourth year, Chris Green (Washington, DC), Fourth year, Isiah Wise (Virginia Beach, VA), and Fourth year, Benjamin Pleasant (Austin, TX). They finished their season with an overall record of 7-20 and a Conference record of 4-15.

To start the quarter Fourth year, Nathan Coonfare (Ellwood City, PA) won tip off and gained possession for Beaver. Penn State Greater Allegheny scored first. Scoring first for Beaver was Fourth year, Isaiah Wise (Virginia Beach, VA) with a drive to the rim adding 2 to Beavers score. Right after Fourth year, Chris Green (Washington, DC) with a made jump shot. A big rebound by Fourth year, Nathan Coonfare (Ellwood City, PA) added to Beavers score. Another jump shot made by Fourth year, Chris Green (Washington, DC). A quick drive to the rim by Second year, Josh McCloud(Houston, TX) added 2 pointers to Beavers score. With 10 minutes remaining the first half Beaver trailed by 13 points. A rebound made by First year, Nick Gjergji (Stanford, VA) brought Beaver closer in score. A nice pass by Fourth year, Isaiah Wise (Virginia Beach, VA) set up Fourth year, Chris Green (Washington,DC) for a nice lay up. Following that play was a huge 3 pointer by First year, Alex Green (Chicago, IL). A steal by First year, Alex Green (Chicago, IL) gave Beaver 2 more points. A huge 3 pointer by Fourth year, Isaiah Wise(Virginia Beach, VA). A foul by Penn State Greater Allegheny allowed First year, Nick Gjergji (Yorktown, NY) to drain both free throws. A nice drive to the rim by Fourth year, Benjamin Pleasant (Austin, TX) added to Beavers score. Following that play a huge 3 pointer was made by Fourth year, Christopher Green (Washington, D.C) to bring Beaver within 10 points. To head into half time a huge 3 pointer made by Fourth year, Chris Green (Washington, DC). Following that with a drive to the rim was Second year, Josh McCloud (Houston, TX). Penn State Greater Allegheny had moments of scoring runs but Beaver battled throughout the first half bring the score within 9 points. Back and forth scoring continued for both teams along with good defense. Heading into half time with a score of 51-42.

Coming out of halftime Penn State Greater Allegheny had possession and started the game with a 3 pointer. Fourth year, Chris Green (Washington, DC) was fouled and made a free throw. Following that with a nice 3 pointer by Fourth year, Isaiah Wise (Virginia Beach, VA). Being fouled First year, Alex Green (Chicago, IL) took advantage and made both free throws. A steal by Fourth year, Chris Green (Washington, DC) brings Beaver within 6 points of Penn State Greater Allegheny. Coming out of a time out Fourth year, Chris Green (Washington, DC) makes a 3 pointer deep behind the arc. A nice pass by Second year, Josh McCloud (Houston,TX) set up Fourth year, Nathan Coonfare (Ellwood City, PA) with an easy lay up. A technical against Penn State Greater Allegheny allowed Fourth year, Chris Green (Washington, DC) to drain both free throws. At the 10 minute mark Beaver trailed by 11 points. Made free throws by Second year, Josh McCloud (Houston, TX) and First year, Alex Green (Chicago, IL) brought Beaver within 7 points. Following that up with a huge 3 pointer was First year, Nick Gjergji (Yorktown, NY). The game remained competitive and had moments of back and forth play but it ended with a final score of 101-90.
