Loss for Beaver Agaisnt PSUAC Match up Penn State Fayette

Fayette, PA- Today the Penn State Beaver Men's Basketball team hit the road for a PSUAC conference match up against Penn State Fayette. Not the outcome Beaver wanted with a final score of 103-55. 

To start the scoring for Beaver was Second year, Trevor Franklin (Stafford, VA) with a made jump shot and quickly following that play was First year, Alex Green (Chicago, IL) with a made lay up assisted by Fourth year, Chris Green (Washington, DC). Penn State Fayette went on a scoring streak which led Beaver to a time out. Coming out of the time out Second year, Trevor Franklin (Stafford, VA) drove to the rim adding 2 points to Beavers score. A slower start to the game for Beaver only scoring 9 points within the first 10 minutes of the game. Also adding to the scoreboard for Beaver was Second year, Josh McCloud (Houston, TX) with 2 made free throws. Following that was a nice drive to the rim by First year, Alex Green (Chicago, IL) to add 2 points to the stat sheet. Some back and forth play continued throughout the quarter. Beaver just couldnt find their momentum that quarter ending it with a score of 26-61 Fayette going into half time.

Coming out of half time Beaver applied some pressure against their opponents. Starting the scoring yet again was First year, Alex Green (Chicago, IL) with a made lay up. Also adding some points was Fourth year, Benjamin Pleasant (Austin, TX) with a drive to the rim. Penn State Fayette ultimately had control most of the game gaining a big lead over Beaver. Second year, Trevor Franklin (Stafford, VA) was fouled and took advantage of the free throws making both. The first 3 pointer made of the game came from First year, Nick Gjergji (Yorktown, NY). Following that with back to back 3 pointers was Second year, Jaylin Houlder (Bronx, NY). The quarter continued with more back and forth play until a steal from Second year, Josh McCloud (Houston,TX) came adding 2 more points to Beavers score. Beaver found some momentum but it was unfortunately too late in the game. Beavers players continued battling Nathan Coonfare (Ellwood City, PA) had a nice rebound and finished the play with a made lay up. Beaver continued to push the rest of the game but fell short with a final score of 103-55. 

Leading scorer and player of the game First year, Alex Green (Chicago, IL) with 12 points, 1 steal, 2 assists, and 7 rebounds. Second year, Josh McCloud (Houston, TX) had 11 points, 3 rebounds, and 5 assists. Also Second year, Trevor Franklin (Stafford, VA) had 10 points, 1 steal, 1 assist, and 7 rebounds. 

The Lions are back on their home court Saturday, February 17th to take on a PSUAC conference match up against Penn State New Kensington.
