Beaver Puts Up First Win of the Season Against Bryant & Stratton - Buffalo
Buffalo, NY - The Lions were back on the court for day 2 of the Bobcat Kickoff Classic. Today the Lions took on Bryant and Stratton Buffalo, and it was a great game to watch.
Beaver was off to a great start in the first half scoring the first bucket of the game. The baslets traded off between both teams, with Beaver in the lead and the score difference remaining within two points Beaver then went on a five point streak to gain a seven point lead. Bryant and Stratton did not stay down long, and ended up coming back and getting a nine point lead over Beaver. This did not keep Beaver down, and in just eight minutes, the Lions closed the half with a 39-32 lead over Beaver.
The second half started off much like the first with Beaver getting a quick four points. Then within five minutes, Beaver had gained a 12 point lead over the Bobcats. However it did not end here. The Bobcats were able to chip at Beavers lead, and with just under nine minutes remaining in the half, they were only down by 3. In the last nine minutes of the game, the Lions were only up by just one or two points at a time. Before anyone knew it, there was just one second left and the Bobcats were down by 1. With a foul coming from the Bobcats and Beaver being in bonus, second year Josh McCloud (Houston, TX) sank the two free throws that secured a 77-74 win over the Bobcats.
Fourth year Chris Green (Washington D.C.) secured player of the game for the Lions after finishing with 24 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal. This was followed by McCloud who finished with 20 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 steal.
