Lions Drop the Ball in Opening Game of the Season
Buffalo, NY - The Lions were on the road for their first game of the season taking on Washington Adventist in day one of the Bobcat Kickoff Classic.
Today proved to be tough for the lions. The first half started off close, both teams trading off buckets. That was until Washington Adventist went on a 13 point run against the Lions. This put them up 5-19 with just over half of the first half remaining. Washington Adventist remained in the lead for the rest of the half, and ended it being up by 27 points. Going into the second half Beaver is down 20-47.
The second half was not much better for Beaver. Beaver was never able to close the lead, and remained down by 20 points or more the entire half. Washington Adventist did not lay off, and by the end of the game they had dropped 90 points on the Lions.
Third year center Matt Brown (Upland, CA) was the highest scorer tonight finishing with 18 points. Brown also had 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, and 1 block. Second year Jabari Gayle (Stafford, VA) was close behind Brown finishing with 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 1 steal. Second year Josh McCloud (Houston, TX) finished with 7 points and 1 assist for the Lions.
