Huge Night for Beaver as They Defeat DuBois at Home
Monaca, Pa - Beaver's Men's Basketball team was back in action at home taking on Penn State DuBois. This was huge for Penn State Beaver and senior Devon Johnson who scored his 1,000th career point.
DuBois started off the first half going on a 8-0 run in the first four minutes. Beaver did not give up and closed the gap, and ended up taking a 7 point lead over DuBois with 6 minutes remaining. Beaver held onto this lead for the remaining of the half. Beaver went down to the locker rooms with a 7 point lead over DuBois scoring 32 points and holding DuBois to 25.
Beaver held onto a lead over DuBois for more than half of the second half of the game. DuBois slowly closed the gap and tied the game 52-52 with 8 minutes remaining. Beaver did not give up and would take their lead back, and extend it to over 10 points. Beaver closed out the game scoring 39 points in the half, holding DuBois to scoring 31, and had a 70-56 win over DuBois.
Senior Devon Johnson (Washington, DC) had a big night scoring 24 points, which led him to getting his 1,000th career point, had 5 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 steals. Sophmore Chris Green (Washington, DC) also put up big numbers finishing with 24 points, 5 rebounds, 1 ssist, and 4 steals. Senior Izaiah Dickerson (Washington, DC) was also a key player in Beaver' win having a double-double scoring 16 points and finishing with 10 rebounds. Dickerson also had 1 assist and 2 steals.
