Short Lived Winning Streak Comes to an End Against Fayette
Lemont Furnace, PA - The Men's Basketball team was back on the road to take on Penn State Fayette for the first time this season. Going into this game, Beaver was on a two game winning streak.
The first half of this game remained close. Both teams traded off buckets and neither team was able to get a lead. Beaver began to struggle just under half way through the game. Fayette was able to get an 11 point lead over Beaver with just over 7 minutes remaining. Beaver struggled to close this gap for the remaining of the half, and Fayette was able to end the half with a 34-24 lead over Beaver.
Fayette went into the second half with an 11 point lead, and hung onto this lead throughout the half. Beaver was able to close the gap a few times, but Fayette remained roughly 10 points ahead of Beaver for most of the half. Beaver was unable to close the gap towards the end of the game, and Fayette extended their gap to 20 points with a minute remaining. Fayette was able to score 38 points on Beaver and gave Beaver 29 points. Fayette took a 72-52 win over Beaver.
Senior Devon Johnson (Washington, DC) finished the game with 18 points, 5 steals, 2 assists, and 2 rebounds. Senior Izaiah Dickerson (Washington, DC) finished with 16 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block. Sophomore Chris Green (Washington, DC) finished with 10 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals.
