The game started with New Kensington making the first goal, but Beaver quickly pushed ahead following a 3-point jump shot from senior DJ Austin. Beaver took an early lead as Gallupe made a layup assisted by Austin. Shortly after, freshman Andrew Brady came in with a 3-pointer, giving the team a greater lead. New Kensington had trouble in the beginning of the half, and Beaver used this to their advantage, creating a lead they couldn't overcome. New Kensington looked uncertain on the court as they attempted to get past Beaver's offense.
In the final seconds of the half, New Kensington attempted to move the ball down the court, but Gallupe came in, gaining possession of the ball. As the clock ticked toward zero, Gallupe successfully made a 3-pointer, giving him his 1,000th career point. The team celebrated this at halftime, with Beaver ahead 43-24.
Now in a celebratory spirit, Beaver went into the second half with the same determination they showed in the first half. Brady continued to lead the team in field goals made, while Gallupe pushed the team ahead with additional 3-pointers. New Kensington came closer than anticipated in narrowing the lead, but Beaver pushed ahead, building their lead back up. Beaver kept their momentum up in the final minutes, as a defeated looking New Kensington struggled with the ball. The game came to a close with a pair of free throws from Louis-Charles, with Beaver defeating New Kensington 88-65.
