Beaver Tops Penn State Worthington Scranton on the Road
The Penn State Beaver basketball team took to the road, topping Worthington Scranton 89-77 in a good battle between the two.

The Penn State Beaver men's basketball team traveled to Penn State Worthington Scranton for a road matchup, winning 89-77. The team came into this game playing well after the holiday break, winning at Kent State-Tuscarawas by a good margin. This game looked to btougher challange for Beaver, but they were still able to take home another good win to start the second half of their season.
The first half of this game showed a good battle between the two teams for the first 10 minutes of play. Neither squad was able to jump out to a big lead and the score remained relativley close until about the 10 minute mark. After that, Beaver was able to get some momentum and starting to gain a nice lead over Worthington Scranton. Although Beaver had control of the game after the first 10 minutes of play, Worthington Scranton still managed to keep the game close until the end of the first half of play.
After the two teams came out from the half, Beaver finally began running away with the game. The team opened up a big double-digit lead and from the start of the second half Beaver never let go of their lead. The team shot well in the second half, and both Freshman Dimetres Moore (Mesa, Az / Skyline) and Freshman Dominique Stevenson (Rochester, NY / Ithaca) were perfect from the field and helped to carry the team to their fourth conference win of the season by a final score of 89-77.
Beaver played very well in this game, taking home a win to improve their record to 8-7 overall. The team is now 4-2 in conference play and look to improve with some favorable conference matchups coming up. The team was led in this game by the play of Freshman Dominique Stevenson who had 16 ponits, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists. Senior Ignacio Alleyne (Stafford, VA / Colonial Forge) also contibuted in a big way, posting a double-double with a team high 22 points and 12 rebounds. Beaver will play next on Saturday, January 14, on the road against Penn State Wilkes Barre. Game time is set for 3 pm.
