Beaver Battles to Victory over New Kensington
Penn State Beaver wins over New Kensington 92-86
New Kensington, PA-- Beaver wins over New Kensington late Tuesday night.
This game was everything for both team's, if Beaver wins they stay the 2nd seed if New Kensington would win they make the playoffs. In the first seven minutes it looking promising for New Kensington, while trading baskets with beaver. New Kensington had Beaver on its heels being up by 16-10. Shortly after Marcus Smith (Pittsburgh, PA/Perry) gave Beaver a spark with a three pointer to bring the game within three. Christian Perkins Pittsburgh, PA/Perry) followed with another three pointer to tie the game up. Beaver kept the pressure up and kept pushing the lead. Beaver kept finding Smith who had the hot hand in the first half with 21 points in the first half. Beaver led New Kensington 53-42.
Second half Beaver would push the lead by 19 with still 17 minuters left. New Kensington didnt give up. Jordan Williams scored 10 points in a row to keep New Kensington in the game and brought them game within 7 points. Beaver continued to score and defend and get the win over New Kensington 92-86.
Beaver was led by Smith with 30 points, Tiere Phillips (Pittsburgh, PA/Penn Hills) 17 Lamont Wright (Pittsburgh, PA/Penn Hills) 13 and Chris Best (Brooklyn, NY, Bishop Ford) added 9.
Beaver's next game is Febuary 13th against Penn State Greater Allegheny for its Senior Night, this will be Beaver's last home game for the season.
