Monaca, PA- The Penn State Beaver men's basketball team defeated Penn State Du Bois tonight in their third consecutive home game.
In the first half, Beaver's Markes Royster (Pittsburgh, PA / Penn Hills) sparked an 8 point run giving them the lead early on. Beaver then increased their lead to 14 points at the 7:14 mark (29-14). Du Bois attempted to chip away at Beaver's lead but would lose the half, 40-23.
In the second half Beaver held their lead never looking back. Beaver's Rob Agurs (Pittsburgh, PA / Penn Hills) led the team in the second giving the team 17 points. Beaver won the game 89-62.
Beaver's Agurs led the team with a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Tiere Phillips (Pittsburgh, PA / Penn Hills) also contributed with 20 points followed by Royster, Nick Miller (Beaver Falls, PA / Beaver Falls), and Chris Weathers (New Brighton, PA / New Brighton) all with 10 points.
Beaver faces Penn State Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday February 12th at home. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
