Beaver gets 30 from Miller, downs York 81-75
Beaver now 14-0 in PSUAC action
Monaca, PA---- Penn State Beaver remains perfect in the PSUAC by beating PSU York 81-75 on Saturday, making the Lions 14-0 in the conference. Beaver took a lead in the first half and led 43-36 at the break. York answered in the second half, quickly erasing their halftime deficit and led by 10 with 9:30 left in the contest. Beaver would cut the York lead in half, trailing by 5, 69-64, with 4:44 left. The score was 71-65 when Beaver hit threes on back-to-back possessions as Mike Martin (Dublin OH, Dublin Jerome) and Nick Miller (Beaver Falls, Beaver Falls) both knocked down jumpers from behind the arc to tie the game at 71. A Chris Weathers (New Brighton, New Brighton) lay-up would give Beaver the lead and Rob Agurs (Pittsburgh, Penn Hills) completed the And-1 to put the game away for good as Beaver would get the victory at the Beaver Fieldhouse.
Beaver got another strong performace from Miller, who has had 30 or more points in consectutive conference games, as he finished with 30 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Agurs scored 22 points and had 8 rebounds while Pat Horton (Farrell, Farrell) added 9 points in the winning effort.
Beaver is now 17-4 overall and 14-0 inside the PSUAC conference and will play again on Monday night when they host PSU New Kensington at 7pm.
