Beaver wins sixth straight

Monaca, PA---- Penn State Beaver defeated PSU Greater Allegheny 95-77 on Tuesday night to stay perfect in conference play, extending their win streak to 6 games. Beaver started early, leading 6-0 and never trailed throughout the entire contest despite a comeback in the second half from Greater Allegheny. Greater Allegheny got a strong performance from Nick Dizon, who finished with 38 points in the loss. Beaver led by 15, 36-21 with 4:30 left in the first half and led 44-33 at halftime. Greater Allegheny was able to cut the lead to three around the 14 minute mark of the second half but Beaver would answer with a 10-0 run that would put the game away for good. Beaver was able to force 25 turnovers while only committing 14 and had 19 steals while shooting 55% from the field.
Lamont Wright (Penn Hills, Penn Hills) and Rob Agurs (Pittsburgh, Penn Hills) both finished with 24 points for Beaver while Julian Taylor (Rochester, Rochester) added 12 points and 6 rebounds. Nick Miller (Beaver Falls, Beaver Falls) scored 11 points and Marquis Samuels (McKeesport, McKeesport) added 8 points. Markes Royster (Pittsburgh, Penn Hills) added 4 rebounds and 4 assists for the Lions in the win.
Beaver is now 8-2 overall and 6-0 in the PSUAC and will travel to PSU Fayette on Thursday to play at 8pm.
