DuBois, PA---- Beaver went on the road on Wednesday night and came away with their third conference win of the season by beating PSU DuBois 89-77, improving to 5-2 overall and 3-0 in the PSUAC. Beaver led by 6 at halftime and came home with the 12 point victory. Beaver was once again strong at the free throw line, going 19-23 (83%) compared to 53% for DuBois. Beaver shot 57% from the field and was 46% from three.
Rob Agurs (Pittsburgh, Penn Hills) led the way for Beaver, going 11-13 from the field while scoring 26 points and grabbing 7 rebounds. Lamont Wright (Penn Hills, Penn Hills) added 17 points and 4 rebounds and Nick Miller (Beaver Falls, Beaver Falls) also scored 17 to go along with his 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Marquis Samuels (McKeesport, McKeesport) had 9 points by going 3-3 from three and Julian Taylor (Rochester, Rochester) added 8 points and 5 rebounds. Patrick Horton (Farrell, Farrell) had 6 rebounds for Beaver in the win.
Beaver will play again on Friday night as they host PSU Schuylkill at 8pm to begin a three game stretch at home. They will play again Saturday at 3pm when they welcome Penn College to the Beaver Fieldhouse and again on Tuesday night when they play PSU Greater Allegheny at 8pm.
