Beaver falls to Edinboro
The Fighting Scots down the Lions 93-73
Edinboro, PA---- On Saturday afternoon, Penn State Beaver traveled to Division II Edinboro University to take on The Fighting Scots as Beaver fell by a final score of 93-73.
The game was tied up at 42 going into the half until Edinboro came out strong in the second half to pull away and take the contest as they outscored the Lions by 20 in the final 20 mintues. The difference for Edinboro was on the boards as they outrebounded Beaver 60-28 in the contest. Beaver got another strong performance from Rob Agurs (Pittsburgh, Penn Hills) as he finished with 24 points while going 10-11 from the field and also grabbing 6 rebounds. Nick Miller (Beaver Falls, Beaver Falls) added 20 points for the Lions while dishing out 5 assists. Both Patrick Horton (Farrell, Farrell) and Lamont Wright (Penn Hills, Penn Hills) each finsihed with 9 points for Beaver. Mike Martin (Dublin OH, Dublin Jerome) collected 5 rebounds and Markes Royster (Pittsburgh, Penn Hills) distributed 5 assists as Beaver fell to 2-2 overall in the season.
Beaver will be back in action this weekend as they travel to the Eastern part of the state to open up their PSUAC regular season by playing PSU Scranton on Friday night at 8pm. They will play again on Saturday as they face PSU Wilkes-Barre with tip-off scheduled for 3pm. Beaver will begin to defend their PSUAC regualr season title, as the Lions went 16-1 last year in PSUAC regualr season play.
