Beaver Continues Winning Streak
Weathers 18 points improves Beaver's winning streak to eight

Monaca, PA- The Men's Basketball Team of Penn State Beaver (15-4, 11-1 PSUAC) played tonight against PSUAC rival Penn State New Kensington (New Kensington, PA).
Beaver scored first in the game, but New Kensington quickly hit a three point shot giving them a one point lead. The first five minutes saw two ties and five lead changes; but after tying it at 14, Patrick Horton (Farrell/Farrell, PA) made a layup at 14:10 to give Beaver a lead that they never lost. New Kensington fought back multiple times, and was down by one (39-38) with just under three minutes left in the half, but a layup by Weathers and a three pointer by Tony Houghton (Perry/Pittsburgh, PA) expanded Beaver's lead back to six. Beaver lead at halftime 49-41.
In the second half, Beaver kept their momentum despite New Kensington's effort throughout the game. Beaver went on to win on the night 92-72.
Weathers lead the team with 18 points, followed by Houghton with 17, and Darius Prince (West Mifflin/Pittsburgh, PA) and Nick Miller (Beaver Falls/Beaver Falls, PA) with 16 each. Miller had another double-double tonight with 10 assists as well. Beaver shot 47.6% from the field, 31.8% from three point range, and 50% from the free throw line.
The men will hit the road this Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 3pm against Penn State York (York, PA).
