Beaver tops DuBois, clinches first season win

DuBois, PA - The Penn State Beaver men's basketball team snapped its 3-game losing streak with a 65-63 victory over Penn State DuBois.
Both teams rallied continuously during the game which ended with a score that came down to the wire.
Beaver was down by 5 with just over two minutes to play when senior Billy Stoughton (Slippery Rock High School/Slippery Rock, PA) scored back-to-back with a strong drive to the bucket for 2 and a clutch 3-pointer to give Beaver a 1-point advantage.
Next, junior Julian Taylor (Rochester High School, Rochester, PA) secured a defensive rebound and was fouled, sending him to the line. Taylor finished one to give Beaver a 65-63 lead.
With 19 seconds remaining, DuBois had the last posession, but Beaver locked down on defense to clinch the victory.
In the win, Taylor led all scorers with 14 points and 11 rebounds, and Stoughton added 12.
The team is 1-3 overall and 1-0 in the PSUAC. On Friday, Dec. 3, they travel to Penn State Hazleton for a game at 8:00 p.m.
