Lions lose another close one

Grove City, PA - The Penn State Beaver men's basketball team dropped its third straight contest in a row, this time to the Grove City College Wolverines by a score of 63-59.
The Lions got off to a slow offensive start and trailed 25-17 at the half. In the second, Beaver outscored Grove City 42-38, but it wasn't enough to overcome its first half slump.
Beaver, now 0-3, was led by freshman Nick Miller (Beaver Falls/ Beaver Falls, PA) with 13 points and senior Billy Stoughton (Slippery Rock/Slippery Rock, PA), who added 12. The two combined for 6-8 behind the arc.
Sophomore Rich Gaston (Shenango/Shenago, PA) and senior David McGarry (Poland Seminary/Poland, OH) were the leading rebounders, with seven boards each.
Next, the team jumps into conference play when it travels to Penn State DuBois on Wednesday, Dec. 1. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m.
