Geneva Defeats Beaver in Second Matchup

Beaver Falls, PA - Geneva College hosted and defeated the Penn State Beaver men's basketball team, 84-62, on Monday night. The game marked Geneva's second win over Beaver this season.
Beaver began the game point for point until Geneva jumped ahead with a 15-10 lead that kept building. In the first 20 minutes, Geneva held Beaver to 34.3% from the field and took a commanding 43-28 halftime lead. In the second, Beaver's shooting improved, but Geneva took the win.
Beaver's high scorers were seniors David McGarry (Poland Seminary/Poland, OH) with 19 points and Billy Stoughton (Slippery Rock High School/Slippery Rock, PA) with 13 points. Sophomore Mike Murcko (Shenango High School/New Castle, PA) and freshman Mike Mollett (Westinghouse High School/Pittsburgh, PA) came off the bench to chip in 7 points each.
The Nittany Lions are now 11-10 overall. Beaver will return to conference play when they host Penn State New Kensington at 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 9.
