3-Peat!!! Men win PSUAC Championship again

State College, PA - The Penn State Beaver men's basketball team captured their third PSUAC title in three years when they defeated #2 seed Penn College, 76-73.
Beaver opened the game on a 19-9 run, building an early lead in the first half. Penn College chipped away, trailing 35-28 at halftime, and finally tied the game, 42-42, with fifteen minutes remaining.
In the next ten minutes, Penn College built their first lead and were ahead by 10 points with five minutes left, but Beaver stormed back to tie the game with just 11 seconds remaining. Penn College missed its last attempt at the buzzer, forcing the game into overtime. Beaver outscored Penn 12-9 in the extra frame to earn their third consecutive title.
Senior David McGarry (Poland Seminary/Poland, OH) recorded a double-double, scored 18 points, and grabbed 12 rebounds. Sophomore Nick Miller (Beaver Falls High School/Beaver Falls, PA) and senior Tony Houghton (Perry High School/Pittsburgh, PA) each added 11.
The Lions are moving on to the USCAA National Tournament at Penn State Fayette, Uniontown. On Wednesday, March 2, # 8 seed Beaver will take on #9 seed Miami University Hamilton at 9:15 a.m. To catch all the live basketball action, visit www.theuscaa.com.
