Lions Suffer First Conference Loss
DuBois, PA - On Saturday, Feb. 13 the Penn State Beaver men's basketball team lost its first conference game of the year when they fell to Penn State DuBois, 73-68.
The game was close from beginning to end with both teams rallying back and forth. With less than three minutes to go, DuBois went on a run that caused an 8-point deficit for Beaver. Beaver gained five points with just under 20 seconds left in the game. Beaver got a clean look behind the arc to tie, but rimmed out, sending DuBois to the foul line.
Senior Zack Fetchin (Hopewell High School, Aliquippa, PA) had 10 rebounds and 24 points. Senior Tim Kubis (Hopewell High School, Aliquippa, PA) contributed 12 points, and senior David McGarry (Poland Seminary High School, Poland, OH) grabbed a game high of 13 rebounds.
Beaver is now 13-1 in the PSUAC and 16-7 overall. On Thursday, Feb. 18 Beaver will travel to take on the Penn College Wildcats at 8:00 p.m.
