Geneva College Defeats Beaver
Beaver Falls, PA - The Penn State Beaver Nittany Lions men's basketball team lost in non-conference competition when it fell to the Geneva College Golden Tornadoes, 59-76, on Saturday, Jan. 9.
Both teams played well in the first half and shot well from the field. At the half, Geneva only held a 2-point advantage over the Lions. However, in the second half, Beaver went cold, shooting 30.8% (8-26) from the field and 10% (1-10) from the 3-point line.
Sophomore Tony Houghton (Perry High School, Pittsburgh, PA) led all scorers with 21 points. Senior Zack Fetchin (Hopewell High School, Aliquippa, PA) had 9 points while sophomore Anthony McPherson chipped in 7 points.
After its non-conference loss, the Lions are 5-0 in the PSUAC and 8-5 overall. On Friday, Jan. 15 Beaver will travel to Penn State Brandywine for an 8 p.m. game.
