Beaver Rolls Over New Kensington
New Kensington, PA - On Tuesday, Jan. 26 the Penn State Beaver Nittany Lions men's basketball team racked up another win when they defeated Penn State New Kensington, 88-48.
At the break, Beaver led by 10 points (37-27) and in the second half outworked New Ken, 51-21, to take the win. For the game, the Lions out-rebounded New Kensington, 44-25.
Senior Zack Fetchin (Hopewell High School, Aliquippa, PA) scored a game high of 22 points, followed by senior David McGarry (Poland Seminary High School, Poland, OH), who had 17 points.
Sophomore Tyler Care (Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School, Midland, PA) also contributed 17 points in the win. Care came into the game with just 12 minutes remaining to shoot 5-5 from the 3-point line as well as 2-2 from the free throw line.
The Lions are 10-0 in the PSUAC and 13-6 overall. On Saturday, Jan. 30, Beaver will travel to Penn State Greater Allegheny for a game at 3:00 p.m.
