Beaver Tops Fayette, Honors Seniors Kubis and Fetchin
Monaca, PA - On Friday, Feb. 19 the Penn State Beaver men's basketball team pushed its PSUAC record to 15-1 after hosting and defeating Penn State Fayette, 78-65. Beaver is 18-7 overall.
The Beaver Nittany Lions led in rebounds 44-24 and shot 47% to Fayette's 38.5%. Senior Zack Fetchin (Hopewell High School, Aliquippa, PA) had a double-double, scoring 30 points and grabbing 15 rebounds. Sophomores Tony Houghton (Perry Traditional Academy, Pittsburgh, PA) and Anthony McPherson (Center High School, Monaca, PA) added 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Before the game, Beaver seniors Tim Kubis (Hopewell High School, Aliquippa, PA) and Fetchin, both four-year starters who will graduate in May, were honored with a brief ceremony. Kubis and Fetchin were members of Head Coach Marcess Williams' first recruiting class four years ago. The men were honored for their hard work, leadership, talent, and dedication to the program.
Beaver will host Penn State DuBois in the PSUAC Final Four game at 8:00 p.m., Monday, Feb. 22.
