Beaver Extends Conference Record to 8-0
Monaca, PA - The Penn State Beaver Nittany Lions men's basketball team won its eighth consecutive PSUAC game this season when they defeated Penn State Hazleton, 73-47, on Friday, Jan. 22.
At halftime, Beaver held a 34-23 advantage over Hazleton and outscored Hazleton by 15 points in the second half. Beaver shot the ball extremely well from both the field (50.9%) and the foul line (80%) and had 12 steals, most of which were converted into fast break lay-ups.
Senior Zack Fetchin (Hopewell High School, Aliquippa, PA) scored 23 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Sophomore Tyler Care (Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School, Midland, PA) came off the bench and was just shy of double figures as he shot a near perfect 3-4 from behind the arc.
Beaver holds a spotless 8-0 PSUAC record and is 11-6 overall. On Saturday, Jan. 23 the team will be at home to take on Penn State Wilkes-Barre at 3:00 p.m.
