Beaver Comes Back to Defeat PSUAC Rivals Penn State DuBois

The Penn State Beaver Nittany Lions regained the top spot tonight after defeating PSUAC rivals Penn State DuBois. Beaver now advanced their conference record to 12-2 and overall record to 15-5.
The first half DuBois jumped to an early lead against Beaver. However, Beaver sparked an offensive run to bring themselves within 4 points of DuBois at the half. Beaver trailed DuBois at the half by a score of 32-28.
In the 2nd half DuBois looked to continue their offensive run against Beaver until junior Tim Kubis (Hopewell HS/Aliquippa, PA) hit a key 3-point jumper to bring Beaver back within 2 points. Beaver would tie the game up until DuBois made an offensive run to put them up 9 with almost three minutes left to go on the clock. With less than three minutes left Beaver went to work making an offensive run against DuBois. Kubis would hit another 3-point jumper to put Beaver up by one. Junior Zach Fetchin sealed the game going 2 for 2 at the foul line. Defensively Beaver held DuBois and defeated them by a final of 71-66.
Freshman Tony Houghton (Perry Traditional Academy HS/Pittsburgh, PA) led the Lions with 22 total points. Kubis followed with 18 total points and Fetchin ending the game with 12 total points.
Beaver will continue PSUAC play when they host the Nittany Lions of Penn State Fayette on Saturday, February 7th. Tip-off is set for 3p.m.
