Lions Continue Conference Winning Streak

The Penn State Beaver Nittany Lions basketball team continued its PSUAC winning streak when they hosted and defeated Penn State Greater Allegheny, 81-50, on Monday, Jan. 26. Beaver is now 10-1 in the conference.
In the first half, Beaver held Greater Allegheny to only 13 points. Both teams struggled offensively, but Beaver ended the half at 28-13. In the second half, Beaver scored an impressive 57 points, outscoring Greater Allegheny by 20 points.
Freshman Tony Houghton (Perry Traditional Academy High School/Pittsburgh, PA) led Beaver with 23 points and 6 rebounds. Junior Zach Fetchin (Hopewell High School/Aliquippa, PA) ended the game with 10 points and 8 rebounds while freshman Matt Shearer (Slippery Rock High School/Slippery Rock, PA) grabbed 11 rebounds.
The Lions are 13-4 overall and will continue PSUAC play when they travel to Penn State New Kensington for a 8 p.m. game on Wednesday, Jan. 28.
