Lions Defeat Penn College
On Sunday, Dec. 14 the Penn State Beaver Nittany Lions men's basketball team hosted and defeated the Penn College Wildcats, 91-86, in a conference win.
Beaver opened the game with an 8-2 run and was leading at the end of the first half, 45-33. In the second half, the Lions built the lead to 16 near the 12-minute mark. The Wildcats took it down to 3 with four minutes left before Beaver went on a run to bring it back to 8. Beaver hit its foul shots and took the win.
Freshman Tony Houghton (Pittsburgh, PA) led all scorers with 21 points while junior Zac Fetchin (Aliquippa, PA) and sophomore Chancelor Humphrey (Aliquippa, PA) each added 15 points. Junior Tim Kubis (Aliquippa, PA) tallied 14 points while connecting on four of five 3-point attempts.
The Lions are 4-1 in the PSUAC and 5-3 overall. They return to action when they host Penn State Fayette, 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 20.
