Mont Alto PA, - Penn State Beaver Baseball team hit the road today as they played against Penn State Mont Alto. The team played in a double header that would lead to defeat for the Penn State Beaver team.
Within the first game the team struggled to get into the groove, as they struggled to get on base. While they did not score any runs in the first inning, third year Jericho Dela Cruz (Auburn, WA) was able to get a hit in the first inning. Mont Alto ended up scoring four runs within that first inning. Within the second inning Beaver couldn't score while Mont Alto scored twelve runs. Mont Alto scored another three runs in the third inning to Beavers none. Within the fourth inning first year Logan Ferguson (Mufeesboro, TN) was able to get able to get a hit, yet the team would get their third out before any chance to score. Beaver would try again in the fifth with third hear Aaron Stribling (Hainesport, NJ) also getting a hit. Yet the team would fall short. The game ended with Mont Alto taking the win with a score of 0 – 19.
In the second game Beaver baseball struggled to get in the game as Mont Alto kept their momentum from the other game. In the first inning Beaver wasn't able to find their footing, which lead to Mont Alto scoring one run to Beavers none. In the second inning there was improvement as the team was able to keep Mont alto from scoring yet still had fallen short when it came to scoring a run. As the game continued Mont Alto was able to score more runs within the third and fourth inning. Although efforts were made as third year Tylik Rouse (Macon, GA) and Player of the game first year Logan Ferguson (Mufeesboro, TN) did manage to get a hit in the third inning, yet they were not able to score a run. As the game continued Beaver tried their best to achieve a run yet they were unfortunately bested by Mont Alto. Ending the game with a score of 0 – 14, Mont Alto took the win.
Penn State Beaver baseball is to play again Monday April 15. As they take on Mont Alto again at the Beaver field house. Come and supporrt or catch it all on the riseandroar network.
