Monaca PA- Penn State Beaver Baseball plays an interesting game as they took on Penn State Fayette in a double header that would lead to a split by the end of the day. The team played their best as they took on Fayette coming up short in the first game with the final score being 5-2. They then went on to redeem themselves incredibly by ending the second game with a score 15 - 4.
Within the first game both teams were playing tough. Not scoring a single run from both sides for the first 2 innings. It wasn't until the third inning did Fayette score three runs. While Beaver struggled to score.Within the fifth inning Beaver found their footing scoring a run by first year Ryan Coulombe (Easton, PA). Fayette came back within the sixth inning scoring an additional two more runs. Beaver returned with another run by first year Brayden Loucks (Krum,Texas). Neither team scored a run within the seventh inning. Ending the game with a score of 5-2 Fayette taking the win in the first game.
The second game Beaver started off the game in a slow pace, as Fayette scored two runs within the first inning. From their beaver lit a fire coming into the second inning scoring 7 runs. third year Jericho De Lacruz (Auburn,WA) hit a single, ganning two RBI's as both first year Jake Burke (Lakeport, CA) and first year Ryan Van Bramer (Pottstown, PA) both scored a run. Within the third inning Fayette scored another run while beaver didn't score any, but that didn't stop them. In the fourth inning the team kept that firing scoring another 8 runs. Within this inning our player of the game first year Jake Burke (Lakeport,CA) tripled, gaining two RBI's which open the way for both first year Ryan Van Bramer (Pottstown,PA) and second year Christopher Cann (Selden, NY) to both score a run. The team was amazing in this games ending the game in the fifth inning with a final score of 15-4. In doing this not only did they secure a win for the day they also ended their 7 game losing streak.
