Monaca,Pa Beaver played their final home game today in a competitive double header against Penn State Allegheny. Today's competition proved to be another tough game for Beaver,but they gave it their all, competing until the end of both games. However, their efforts were not enough to overcome Penn State Allegheny. After this devastating loss they now have finished their season as 2-33 overall and 2-19 in conference play.
In the first game, Beaver started off well against Penn State Greater Allegheny holding them to zero in the top of the first inning. They would follow this up with a double from Senior Matthew Cater (Monaca,Pa) allowing Sophomore Jericho Dela Cruz (Auburn,WA) to get the first score of the day. Beaver would allow Penn State Greater Allegheny to gain some leeway in the top of the second but they would answer the call and respond adding three more runs to the scoreboard.Ultimately, Beaver would lose traction in this game leading to a devastating 16-4. Sophomore Jericho Dela Cruz (Auburn,WA) would go 1-2 at bat and would also add 1 run to the scoring column. Sophomore Aaron Stribling (Hainesport,NJ) would also go 1-2 at bat.
In the second game, Beaver would still play competitively looking to upset this Penn State Greater Allegheny team but would not get the results desired in this game. Penn State Greater Allegheny would get off to a hot start digging beaver in a hole early in the top of the first inning.Beaver would not start to gain traction until the 3rd inning when both Freshman Nicholas Campbell (Lewes,DE) and Sophomore Jericho Dela Cruz (Auburn,WA) would score finally giving beaver some momentum. Beaver would go on to lose this game as well 16-2. Junior Ricardo Elizondo Jr. (Los Angeles,CA) and Freshman Nicholas Campbell (Lewes,DE) would both go 1-2 at bat but Junior Ricardo Elizondro (Los Angeles,CA) would add one run to the scoring column.
