Beaver Splits Conference Games Against Penn State Greater Allegheny, Brings Home First Conference win

Pullman Park, PA - In 2 tough games, the Lions fought hard and split with Penn State Greater Allegheny to bring home their first conference win of the season. The final score from the first game was 5-4 in favor of Penn State Greater Allegheny, but the Lions turned it around in the second game with a final score of 8-4. 

The first game started with Senior, Senior Jacob Beck on the mound. Pitching 6.1 innings, hegave up 7 hits and had 9 strikeouts. Sophomore, Jake Gartley went 2 for 4 with a double and scored 2 runs for Beaver. Freshman, Jericho Dela Cruz, also went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI's. The Lions finished the game with 5 hits in total and made 0 errors in the field. 

The second game turned around for Beaver though scoring in the 2nd, 3rd and 7th inning. Freshman, Jacob Gresham pitched 6.0 innings while Junior, Parker Walden closed with 1.0 innings. From the plate the Lions strung together 8 hits to total 8 RBI's. Three Freshman for Beaver hit doubles today, Jericho Dela Cruz, Aaron Stribling, and Matthew Cater. Freshman, Matthew Cater also hit a triple going 2 for 3 and scoring 2 runs. Senior, Stefan Romaniuk went 1 for 3 with a walk, scoring 2 runs for Beaver, and driving in 1 RBI.
